Ian is a parent governor at a local Church of England primary school.

 

  • Licensing

    Extensively involved in advising local authorities on the implementation of the Licensing Act 2003 and is a licensing expert - having:

    • Appeared at numerous licensing appeals under the new legislation
    • Drafted and reviewed licensing policy statements for several Leicestershire authorities.
    • Advised on committee composition and procedures for hearings.
    • Provided training courses and seminars in licensing law for local authorities and the licensed trade.
    • Managed a licensing department - and knows what it is like on the inside.

Ian also provides licensing advice and representation at licensing committee hearings and licensing appeals on a direct access basis

  •  Ian Jones is the author of the forthcoming Appeals Guide series, giving expert tips on how to deal with the most common types of administrative appeal.

  • "Housing - Ian Jones takes a look at what can go wrong in obtaining housing injunctions and explains the new anti-social behaviour powers" New Law Journal N.L.J. (2005) Vol. 155 No. 7175 Pages 686-687.

  •  Ian is the author of a series of occasional guidance papers for school governors.

Associations

Interests

An active member of a local church and choir, Ian aims to sing at all of the major cathedrals in England.  Ian is also a parent governor at St. John the Baptist Primary School, Leicester and a member of Leicester Diocesan Synod.
