Areas of Practice
- Children Children Act 1989 - Private Law
Experienced in all levels of private law children work acting for parents and grandparents, including residence and contact disputes under section 8 of the Children Act 1989 with particular experience in contact disputes involving domestic violence or implacable hostility. Also accepts instructions to act for Guardians under rule 9.5.
- Children Act 1989 - Public Law
Regularly accepts instructions from both Local Authorities and Respondents (whether parents, grandparents and extended family or the Guardian) at all levels in public law children work, including applications for care and supervision orders, special guardianship and secure accommodation orders.
- Financial Relief
Experienced in ancillary relief, including final hearings. Also accepts instructions in applications by cohabitees under TLATA 1996 s14, for financial provision for children under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 together with CSA and maintenance pending suit matters.
- Domestic Violence and Injunctions
Regularly accepts instructions from both Applicants and Respondents in applications under the Family Law Act 1996 for non molestation and occupation orders and committals. Also accepts instructions in applications under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
- General Civil
Undertakes work on a regular basis within the general civil field, including negligence, personal injury, breach of contract and landlord and tenant.

- RK v BK and R (By His Guardian, Instructed by NYAS) 18th May 2007 reported on Family Law Week and summarized in Family Law Newswatch, concerning protracted litigation over contact to a child, culminating in a s91(14) for the duration of the child's minority.
Postgraduate Academic Studies
- In addition to her full time practice, she is currently undertaking an LLM in Child Law through the distance learning programme at the University of Northumbria. This will cover topics including the foundations of child law, confidentiality and consent together with the elective modules of education law, child protection, children and criminal law and a research project to a maximum of 20,000 words.
