Admission & Exclusion

Advice and representation to parents, schools and education authorities in relation to admission policies, disciplinary policies and procedures, disciplinary hearings, appeals against refusal of admission, appeals against exclusion.

Acting as "clerk to the independent appeal panel" on admission and exclusion appeals, including legal advice, producing record of meeting and decision notice.

Advice and representation on judicial review of decision of school or of independent appeal panel on refusal to admit or on exclusion of pupil.

Special Educational Needs

Advice and advocacy relating to assessment of special educational needs, failure to provide statement, failure to make proper provision for statemented pupil, including proceedings before Special Educational Needs and Discrimination Tribunal (SENDIST).

Bullying, Harassment & Discrimination

Advice, drafting and advocacy for pupils, parents, educational establishments and local education authorities relating to claims of bullying, harassment or discrimination in the educational context.

General

All other areas of education law and practice, including organisation of schools and colleges, employment terms and conditions, inspection and assessment and on civil and criminal law in the educational context.
